Flash-based sites have been a craze since the past few years, and as Macromedia compiles more and more great features into Flash, we can only predict there will be more and more flash sites around the Internet. However, Flash based sites have been disputed to be bloated and unnecessary. Where exactly do we draw the line? Here’s a simple breakdown.

The good:

Interactivity

Flash’s Action script opens up a vast field of possibilities. Programmers and designers have used Flash to create interactive features ranging from very lively feedback forms to attractive Flash-based games. This whole new level of interactivity will always leave visitors coming back for more.

A standardized site

With Flash, you do not have to worry about cross-browser compatibility. No more woes over how a certain css code displays differently in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. When you position your site elements in Flash, they will always appear as they are as long as the user has Flash Player installed.

Better expression through animation

In Flash, one can make use of its animating features to convey a message in a much more efficient and effective way. Flash is a lightweight option for animation because it is vector based (and hence smaller file sizes) as opposed to real “movie files” that are raster based and hence much larger in size.

The bad and the ugly:

The Flash player

People have to download the Flash player in advance before they can view Flash movies, so by using Flash your visitor range will decrease considerably because not everyone will be willing to download the Flash player just to view your site. You’ll also have to put in additional work in redirecting the user to the Flash download page if he or she doesn’t have the player installed.

Site optimization

If your content was presented in Flash, most search engines wouldn’t be able to index your content. Hence, you will not be able to rank well in search engines and there will be less traffic heading to your site.

Loading time

Users have to wait longer than usual to load Flash content compared to regular text and images, and some visitors might just lose their patience and click the Back button. The longer your Flash takes to load, the more you risk losing visitors.

The best way to go is to use Flash only when you absolutely need the interactivity and motion that comes with it. Otherwise, use a mixture of Flash and HTML or use pure text if your site is purely to present simple textual and graphical information.

Contact Orlando advertising agency, Yuppify.com for all your web development needs, from Orlando web design to Orlando graphic design, and all the work in between.

A web site can be one of the most rewarding marketing tools you will ever use, because it can help you expand your business in ways never before possible.

It goes without saying that a professional looking website is going to get you more respect, and visitors will take you more seriously than if you have a poorly designed one. Our Orlando graphic design team takes great care while designing web page in terms of sound user experience like background color, text, buttons, menus, file size that gives ease in browsing & search engine visibility.

Our Orlando web design team understands that content is important, but content alone will not make your site work. A good design is understandable, interesting, easy to use and uniform in look and feel. We create website that is displayed well in all browsers and it helps us to reach to our clients.

Search Engine optimization describes the process of designing or modifying a website in order to achieve high rankings in search engine results page (SERPS). Our Orlando SEO team has the expert knowledge of what factors search engines use when ranking a page and how significant each of those factors.

Our Orlando internet marketing team uses mixture of on-page and off-page factors for generating sales and/ or capturing leads form customers that are searching on the internet. Traditionally it was “search engine optimization” which now has grown to include pay per click and few other as below.

Search engine: In order for your pages to show up in top positions in search results returned by a search engine, you must satisfy certain basic conditions. Your pages must be fitted with appropriate keywords etc. Such prepared pages have to be submitted to the search engines, in order to be included in their database (indexing). You need to do a follow up, to make sure that your page has in fact been added (indexed), and then test it for scoring, subsequently optimizing your pages and again resubmitting them if necessary.

Web directories: The major web directories are often referred to as search engines, but they are not the same. Directories are compiled into categories by humans, while search engine listings are created by automated systems. Some directories offer free listings but most charge a fee for business to be listed.

Banner ads: Banner ads are colorful ads on websites and in e-zines encourage visitors to click on them to visit your website. Just like print ads, the most effective ones make a special offer to encourage response. Some advertising venues will charge you a flat fee to run your ad for a certain period of time, others will charge based on the number of “impressions” your ad receives i.e. number of people who view it, and still others will charge for “click-throughs” i.e. the number of people who click on it.

Pay-per click ads: Pay-per-click ads are text or graphic ads for which you pay a fee every time someone clicks on the ad to visit your website. Sometimes these ads appear in a fixed location, such as a certain page on a website or in an e-zine. Other pay-per-click ads are context – sensitive e.g. Google Adwords. This means they are displayed on search engine pages and / or a wide variety of advertising-supported sites where keywords related to your service are in use. For example, a project management consultant could purchase a pay-per-click ad for the keyword phrase “project management” and agree to pay a maximum of $2.00 every time a visitor clicked through to visit her site.

Being the leading Orlando Advertising Agency we believe that if you want your web site to be an effective marketing tool, it must be designed with the needs of your clients and prospects in mind. So instead of focusing all your attention on how to show your work in the best light; put yourself in the shoes of your prospects and think about their moment of need for your services.

The goal of a content management system (CMS) is to control a site’s content – text, pictures, links, ads, videos, and more – in one single application.

Normally in CMS, after user logs in, they can easily add, update, and delete content, as well as control the templates that drive the presentation of the site. The software runs on the server, is tied to a database, and is written with several-side language like PHP, ASP.NET,Cold Fusion, Ruby on Rails, or Python.

Our Orlando SEOteam of believes that creating search engine friendly URLs becomes challenging and requires more forethought when developing a dynamic web site. A dynamic website with poorly architecture URLs presents numerous problems for a search engine. On the other hand, search engine friendly URLs containing relevant keywords may both increase search engine rankings, as well as prompt a user to click them. There are many ways to improve URLs with regard to index-ability as well as aesthetics. This typically involves eliminating any unnecessary parameters, and/or obscuring the dynamic parameters using keyword-rich static URLs.URL rewriting is done differently depending on the server-side technology employed for a web site.

Our Orlando InternetMarketing team believes that a web site’s architecture is the base of all future search engine marketing efforts. The content rests on top of it. The contents are presented in template or theme; our Orlando Graphic design team specializes in preparing web layout to be used in CMS template design. There are literally hundreds of CMSs, many of them free and open source as below.

WordPress
A blog is a basic example of a CMS. The author logs in, writes a post and clicks “publish”. WordPress embodies that simplicity, it is free, has a shallow learning curve, and boasts an impressive library of plug-ins.

Text pattern
Once known as a blogging platform, Text pattern has expanded into a true CMS designed to manage all aspects of a corporate website. Administrations can control contributing author’s permission levels and the extensible templating system allows for a range of architectural possibilities. Nontechnical authors also praise its elegant and easy-to-use back-end system. Like WordPress,Text pattern is free and boasts a dedicated community.

Drupal
Drupal is another free CMS but it offers a very deep set of functionality far beyond the scope of WordPress or Text Pattern. It was designed from the get-go to be enterprise ready, and it offers a considerable range of modules, including simple blogging, integrated forums, user registration, statistics packages and more. It is free but demands a much higher learning curve.

Joomla
Joomla is free open source CMS. In addition to Joomla’s robust native feature set there are numerous free and commercial plug-ins are available touse. This vast array of extensions makes it possible to deploy a joomla system that can do almost anything you require, from chat rooms, to online auctions,to classified ads, to inventory management. Our Orlando Web design team has expertise in making Joomla template design that helps to customize look and feel of Joomla site.

Being a leading Orlando Advertising agency we believe that CMS dramatically reduce the maintenance costs for large and small Web sites alike. By organizing all of the content in a database and separating it as much as possible from the presentation aspects and the program code, much greater administrative flexibility is available through a CMS than most other methods of Web site deployment.

Website redesigning can be a major undertaking. Depending on the magnitude, it can be as challenging as a brand new design. Listing the reasons for the revamp and the goals the site will accomplish will help to make your site better than ever.

Website redesigning can be just as stressful, time-consuming, and rewarding as building a site from scratch. Even small changes need ample preparation time to ensure that every piece is covered, and reconfiguring the site’s architecture can require hours in front of flowcharts, wire frames and mind-mapping software.

Being a leading Orlando Internet marketing company we understand that for better marketing the website, if a corporation’s management team is going to invest money in the project, they are going to want a substantial return for their efforts. It is critical to craft a detailed list of objectives that the redesign will address.

Changing a website can happen for any number of reasons:

• The marketing director is still not satisfied with the overhaul from just two months ago and wants to see new ideas (again)

• The current website, built on static HTML has grown beyond its original scope and now needs a content management system to handle the virtual library of content.

• Government or advocacy groups have insisted that the business meet compliance and accessibility standards.

• The company’s lead web designer has learned new techniques that will greatly benefit visitors and the site’s content managers (such as upgrading to a CSS-based layout, adding some non intrusive javascript enhancements, or expanding functionality on the back-end to meet customer demand).

• Changing the visual brand is a part of your annual marketing plan.

Whatever the case, being a leading Orlando advertising agency we understand that it is critical to ensure that the planned redesign address the current website’s shortcomings. The world market is becoming smaller as major competitors devour one another like shark in a fishing pond. If nothing else, the constant business activity keeps web redesigning in business as companies constantly find need to rebuild or reinvent their websites in order to accommodate the influx of technology and branding clout.

Consider the following wish list for a fictional redesign

• Make the website standards compliant by using semantic markup and CSS-based design. Construct the sit e with valid XHTML. Our Orlando web design team specializes in this.

• Reduce the average page weight by half to decrease load time.

• Make the website more accessible by complying with WCAG 1.0 Priority Level 1 guidelines.

• Add the new company logo and implement the revised style guide for corporate colors.

• Create consistency in the site’s navigation by replacing the current disparate menus with a collective drop-down menu.

Halve the number of steps in shopping cart checkout process.

Use Ajax widgets to improve the interactivity of the shopping cart process.

• Add a corporate blog. Our Orlando SEO team of experts encourages this from content point of view as updated content is what search engine likes.

• Change the technology in website to empower it better.

• Enhance graphic to make website more attractive yet user friendly. Our Orlando graphic design team has expertise in this area.

One of the important factors of operating in globalized economy is the pressure to constantly cycle through creative ideas, to stay fresh with branding and reinvent the look and feel of your business in order to remain relevant. Sometimes these changes are subtle may be new tag line and sometimes the changes are huge may be massive branding campaigns, a logo redesign or a new set of core messages.

Additional Info:

They are sometimes referred to as inbound links. These are the links that go from another web site to your web site.

Having more external inbound links is something to be desired. For best results, try to acquire inbound links from sites or pages with high page rank values. As a rule of thumb, back links with minimum page rink value of 4 yield the best results. The more back links you acquire from high page rink sites, the better.

Back links say a lot about a website’s popularity. You can think of back links as votes for your link or URL. This is what search engines consider in their ranks as well. The benefit is multifold, as you will be receiving traffic from your back links as well as from the search engines.

It is important for back links to contain relevant anchor text. i.e. use relevant text in links Eg < a target=new href=http://yoursite.com/orlando_seo_experts> Meet Orlando SEO experts here Ideally, the referring sites should also be talking about the same subject matter. At the very least, the referring page should be on the same topic.

Search engines have given certain websites as weighted advantage over all other sites for most of the popular keywords. This gives importance of back links from expert sites e.g. get a link on Wikipedia if you can. Directories are considered similar to other “expert” sites such as Wikipedia. We should check he page rink of each director we choose to use for our site, the higher the page rink is, the better. It is valuable to have numerous inbound links, but if those links are from sites with a low page ranking, then it does not do you much good.

Google weights web sites with a page rink system (PR) and your PR is directly reflected by the PR of the site that links to you.

The age of back links conveys the message of trust and therefore a perceived link quality. A new back link on a page that is constantly changing is not as beneficial as an old back link on the same page.

There are number of ways in which you can get additional back links to your website.

1. Reciprocal linking

This is where you can link to another site that provides the same service or product as you and they in turn have a link to your site on theirs. While very popular in the past, this exchange of links is not as valuable as one-way links.

2. Site submissions

Submit links for your site to directories which allow free submissions, or if you can afford it, some paid directories. There are many sites which offer a service where you can submit your site’s details to numerous websites.

3. Blogging

This has now become integral part of the internet, and is one of the most effective ways of linking. You either have the choice of placing a few words or comments on to someone else’s blog, or you may want to link to them from your own blog.

4. Articles

This is another way of getting back links. It is vital that any articles you write are on the subject, informative and thorough in relation to your site. Quality articles published on article sites are a great way of getting more back links to your site.

5. Social networking sites

These sites can drive massive amount of traffic to commercial websites. They are also important method for making both social and business regardless of the type of business you are in.

Graphic design skills are essential and applicable to built solutions in a vast array of different media, including magazines, catalogs, print ads, posters, web pages and animations, brochures and promo sheets, decals, packaging, POP (Point of purchase) displays, trade show banners, logos .

Our Orlando graphic designers are not simply good designers; they are experts in designing for the ever-changing technology inherent to the printing and online industry.

    Logo

A logo can be the organization’s initials, the organization’s name, an image or a combination of these. A good deal of research goes into the development of logos. The most common uses of logo are on organization web sites, email messages, letterheads, envelops and business cards. Our Orlando Internet marketing team strongly believes that effective logos are vital to an organization’s reputation and marketing efforts.

Designing Business Stationery -Business Letterhead, envelope and Business Cards

The letterhead, the envelope and the business card, are a family unit. They should have a family resemblance, and a consistency. Together they are the image and identity for the business or organization.

Every logo needs a home and business letterhead is the starter home for most logos. The logo should be in a prominent place since it is the identifier for the organization. The letterhead should create an appropriate image for an organization or business. After determining the letterhead size (most letterheads are printed on 8.5 x 11 inch paper), the designer proceeds to place the elements on the page, giving priority to the most important elements like the logo and the company name.

The envelop design should be as much like the letterhead design as possible. In the design of envelops, it is vital to be consistent with the design of letterheads and business cards.

Business cards can be a good advertisement for your organization. Our Orlando Graphic design team designs the business card so that it can make an impression on the person receiving it. Business cards are designed for either a horizontal or vertical format.

Announcement Cards

Announcement cards are reserved for special moments- those excessive joy and those of unbearable sadness. They are emotionally charged and very personal. Our Orlando Graphic design team strategy tends toward strong typography, careful choice and format, and diligent concern over color choices.

News letter Design

Newsletter can be an effective communication tool that is of interest for the clients and prospects of any company. Newsletter can range from a single page to a multi-page format. Being a leading Orlando Advertising agency we believe for a graphic designer, it is important to remember that the design style should impart the essence of the newsletter content even before it is read. This can be accomplished by selecting appropriate typefaces and creating an appropriate layout.

Publications

Our Orlando graphic design team is ready to deliver routine or rush job of graphics design for publisher who routinely produce books or magazines.

Brochures

A brochure is a small booklet or pamphlet that helps to sell a product or a service. A brochure can help in bringing sales inquiries and possibilities to your door. Your brochure should be a mood setter, a way to entice an inquiry. Brochures are definitely market stimulators.

As in traditional print publishing, high quality web sites adhere to established type style settings consistently throughout the site. Our Orlando web design team understands that it is important to decide settings such as fonts, inter-paragraph spacing, the size of subheads, and so on and then create a written style guide to help you maintain these settings as you develop the site.

Web page layout:

The design of your web site must incorporate a consistent visual hierarchy in emphasis, look, feel, and organization.

Graphic design is visual information management which guides users through your page and site. The graphic design balance and organization of the page is thereafter critical in catching the attention of the user. Our Orlando graphic design team recommends that while thinking about page layout, consider what you are trying to portray and what a user is likely to be expecting. Our Orlando SEO team of experts optimizes the website from search engine point of view considering that most people who visit your web pages are there in search of useful information.

Being a leading Orlando advertising agency, we encourage you, our clients, to allow us to design your graphic requirements.

Google aims to return highly relevant results for every query. Search results are returned from Google’s search index which is constantly evolving as content is added and modified on the web

One way to expedite Google’s discovery of new pages is to submit a Sitemap. Sitemaps are a great way to tell Google about the pages you own, and how often they are updated or changed. Even if your site is already in the index, Sitemaps are a great way to tell Google about the pages you consider most important. Creating and submitting a Sitemap helps make sure that Google knows about all the pages on your site, including URLs that may not be discoverable by Google’s normal crawling process.

If you have a Google Account, you can sign in to Webmaster Tools straight away. Google recommend adding every version of your site (for example, both http://www.yuppify.comand http://yuppify.com). Because Google can send you information only about those sites that they know you own, Google will ask you to verify your ownership by making a specific change to a web page, or uploading a file. If you can make those changes, we know you’re a site owner.

Below points can be considered to make sure Google can find and crawl your site.

1. Check crawl errors. The Crawl errors page provides details about the URLs in your site that Google Bot tried to crawl but could not access. To view crawl errors access your site from www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ .

2. Review your robots.txt file, to see if you’re blocking Googlebot from any URLs or directories on your site.

2. Make sure that the URLs haven't been blocked using “no index” meta tag i.e.
When Google bot see the no index meta tag on a page, Google will completely
drop the page from our search results, even if other pages link to it.

3. Most search engines are text-based. If you use JavaScript, DHTML, images, or
rich media such as Silver light to create navigation and links, Google bot and other
spiders may have trouble crawling your site.

5. If you have recently restructured your site or moved to a new domain, pages
that previously performed well may now rank poorly. To avoid this, use 301 redirects
("Redirect Permanent") in your .htaccess file to smartly redirect users, Google bot,
and other spiders. (In Apache, you can do this with an .htaccess file; in IIS, you can do
this through the administrative console.)

It provides Google with useful information about the subject matter of the image. Google use this information to help determine the best image to return for a user’s query.

Google Search Results and it’s importance

All search engines operate in the same basic way: they crawl the web with automatic software robots called spiders or crawlers, which create searchable indexes of web content.

Crawling is how Googlebot discovers new and updated pages to be added to the Google index. Google crawls the web at varying depths and more than one schedule. The so-called deep crawl occurs roughly once a month. Google’s crawl process begins with a list of web page URLs, generated from previous crawl processes, and augmented with Sitemap data provided by webmasters. As Googlebot visits of each these websites, it detects links on each page and adds them to its list of pages to crawl often to ensure its index stays as current as possible. New sites, changes to existing sites, and dead links are noted and used to update the Google index. To stay current, Google launches various supplemental fresh crawls that skim the web more shallowly and frequently than the deep crawl. These supplementary spiders do not update the entire index, but they freshen it by updating the content of some sites.

In general, however, search engines are text based. This means that in order to be crawled and indexed, your content needs to be in textformat. Each engine’s index is unique; the main element of programming them is their algorithm, which ranks pages in an index. This ranking determines the order in which search results are presented.

The indexer has a small but very important function: to catalog all the words and their positions on every page that the crawler fetches. These catalogs serve as maps for the search engine, allowing it to match the words in your search requests to specific web pages and to pinpoint the exact locations of those words on web pages returned as search results.

Results of Google’s algorithm are summarized in a single ranking statistic called Page Rank. Google does promote the importance of Page Rank, and offers Webmasters broad hints for improving a site’s Page Rank.

Important thing to remember here is when using Google; you are actually searching its massive database of web pages, not the web itself. The search engine’s index and copy of web pages is highly tuned and optimized for fast performance under the load of thousands of queries per second. The clear advantage to this approach is that we get the search results quickly however the disadvantage is that we may be searching an out-of-date copy of the web. The results may include pages that the search engine last crawled and indexed more than 30 days previously.

Main fact to remember is that Google applies Page Rank considerations to every single page, not just to domains and top pages. If a specific page is important to you and not appearing in Google search results, your task is to apply every networking-back linking and optimization tactic to that page. You may also manually submit that specific page to Google. You can get your site into the Google index in two simple ways:

· Submit the site manually

· Let the crawl find it

Google accepts URL submissions, but it does not respond to them nor assure webmasters that their submissions will be added to the index. You can submit the URL at this address in Google www.google.com/addurl.html When Google decides to manually to add a site, it does so by sending the spider crawling to the submitted URL to take stock of the site’s various pages.

To see indexed pages in your site, in Google search use the site: operator, type like this: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=site:yuppify.com or type site:yuppify.com in Google search, to see sites linking to www.yuppify.com, use http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=link:yuppify.comor type link:yuppify.com in Google search. The cache: operator shows you an archived copy of a page indexed by Google. For example, http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=cache:yuppify.comor typing cache:yuppify.com in Google search displays the last indexed version of the Yuppify homepage, along with information about the date the cache was created.

The key to attracting Google’s spider is getting your page linked on other sites. Google finds your content by following links to your pages. With no incoming links (also called back links), you are an unreachable island as far as Google crawl is concerned. Any website, large or small, can gain favorable positioning by leveraging good content, diligent networking, and smart optimizing. In practice, you want as many incoming links as possible, both to increase your site’s chance of being crawled and to improve your site’s Page Rank once in the index. One key to higher Page Rank is getting listed on other site. Google acknowledges that the number of links pointing to a site is the largest single factor of that site’s Page Rank. Highly ranked pages appear close to the top of Google’s search results lists.
